ICRISAT focuses on the semi-arid tropical areas of the developing world, where low rainfall is the major environmental constraint to agriculture. Special emphasis is placed on five crops that are particularly important in the diets of the poor: sorghum, millet, groundnut, chickpea, and pigeonpea. |
